Corn Earworm Research

Picture
Have you ever bought an ear of sweet corn and saw there was a worm?  This is the corn earworm (Helicoverpa zea).  The pest is responsible yearly for over $100 million in crop damages.  The focus of a multi-year project was to trace the trajectory of corn earworm across the northeastern US and find any weather patterns that may affect these trajectories.
